Vatthe has six bungalows constructed of local materials with two beds in each. The doors are lockable and it's a good idea to bring a small padlock. Mosquito nets are provided and kerosene lamps are used for lighting. The largest building at Vatthe houses the restaurant, radio room and kitchen. Each pair of bungalows shares a toilet (modern flush toilet) and shower. Bath towel, soap and toilet paper are provided. Traditional aelan kaekae like nalot breadfruit can be made on request and it's interesting to watch the preparation. Vatthe Conservation Area covers 2,276 hectares of lowland alluvial forest at the southern end of Big Bay on the island of Espiritu Santo.

The bungalow is in a quiet place, a short walk from the village. The house is made of local materials and has seven or eight beds inside. There were no mosquito nets so consider bringing one although there are very few mosquitos at night. There is no electricity in the village, kerosene lamps are used for lighting —bring a torch for walking around at night. There is a kitchen house outside the bungalow although it is empty. Most trekkers would bring their own equipment and the kitchen could prove useful. Bring your own bath towel. Bring your own toilet paper. You can also buy it in the village stores. The major attraction in this area is Mount Tabwemasana which is the highest mountain in Vanuatu (1879 m). The rugged mountain ranges are home to rare and endemic birds, flora and fauna.

Vetape is a new Guest House on Tangoa Island, south Santo. Tangoa is just 200 metres from the mainland and some people swim across the channel but beware of Tiger Sharks. Local people say that dogs get eaten when they fall out of canoes. They also believe that sharks will only eat people who are guilty of a wrongdoing. Tango is a small island. People choose to live there because it is dry and relatively mosquito free. There a many creeks on the mainland and a submarine pipe transport fresh water across to the island. On Tangoa you can learn about the history of the island and the missionaries, go fishing and snorkelling. On the mainland you can go bush walking to the Tapuntari Waterfall and other places.

The Francophone village of Port Olry has two bungalows in the village and four a little bit out of town. There are several things to see and do nearby such as Nice beaches, Good snorkelling at Malvoror Island, with spectacular red coral and visit to Hat-shaped Thion Island (sometimes marketed as "Dolphin Island") is a refuge for nature. You can eat your breakfast outside while watching the turtles. Thion Island is a short canoe trip. Coconut crabs and Megapode birds are abundant on Thion, there are two freshwater lakes, Sandalwood trees and a viewpoint on top..
