Noda Guesthouse is a modern construction with two bedrooms, each with two single beds, and a kitchen. Kerosene lamps are used for lighting. There's a small padlock for locking the bungalow door. Vanu is a small village with just a couple of stores and a kava bar. The kitchen has the usual gas cook top, etc. There are a couple of stores in the village where you can buy basic food. Simple prepared meals include rice and tin fish or water taro and tin fish and bread with tea for breakfast. The water supply comes down from a clean source in the hills and is OK to drink. Beside the bungalow, there's a modern flush toilet and shower. Vanu has a good water supply and there's running water in the kitchen too. Bring your own bath towel, toilet paper and soap.

Walarua Guesthouse is about 15 minutes walk from the Sara airfield. Ezekiel’s Guesthouse has three bedrooms, each with two single beds, and a kitchen. Kerosene lamps are used for lighting. The guesthouse kitchen has the usual gas cook top and a basic set of pots, plates, utensils etc. There are more than a few stores around where you can buy food and fresh local bread. Sometimes there are fundraisers or mini-markets on "busy street" where you can buy cooked food. Water is supplied from Ezekiel's two rainwater tanks and it's OK to drink. Behind the guesthouse are a basic pit toilet and a haus blong swim (bucket showers). Bring your own bath towel, toilet paper and soap. North Pentecost has a National Bank of Vanuatu and there's a medical clinic near the Nazareth school.

Samuel's Guesthouse is about five kilometres north of the Lonorore airfield on Pentecost. Sam's original guesthouse is built of local materials with a concrete floor. It has two bedrooms, a sitting room and a kitchen. One bedroom has two single beds and the other has two bunk beds. Bring your own mosquito net. Mosquito coils are available. Kerosene lamps are used for lighting. Outside the guesthouse, there's one dry-pit toilet, one water-seal toilet (bucket flush) and a shower. The small kitchen in Samuel's Guesthouse has a gas cook top and a minimal set of pots, plates, cups and utensils. There are a couple of relatively expensive stores in Baravet where you can buy food. Samuel can provide some vegetables from his garden and aelan kaekae meals can be provided.

Toa Palms Bungalows is a good base for exploring West Ambae. From Ndui Ndui you might climb up to the crater lakes on top of Ambae or follow the coast south to Devil's Rock. The guesthouse has two single beds and one bunk bed inside. It has fly screens and locking doors. The garden bungalow is smaller and more private, with two single beds inside. West Ambae is a dry place and there are few mosquitos. The main building (reception) has a single bedroom, a lounge and a kitchen with a gas stove. There's one modern shower and one western flush toilet.

Lolowai Transit House is a modern building with three (four) small bedrooms, a lounge room and a dining room. Each bedroom has two single beds. Hurricane lamps are used for lighting. There are mosquitoes at Lolowai and it's a good idea to bring a mosquito net. Lolowai has a water supply. The transit house has a western shower and a modern flush toilet. Bath towels are provided. The guesthouse is a self-contained property with a gas burner and basic pots, pans, plates, utensils etc. Lolowai has well stocked stores and occasionally there's some local produce for sale. Alternatively, meals can be bought at the Lolowai Credit Union restaurant. Lolowai, near Saratamata, is one of Ambae's main ports and also near the Longana airfield.
