The PENAMA Provincial Call Center agent can assist you with making a booking. There a range of guest houses and bungalows that can be booked through the center and often only open to accommodate visitors. Like with all provinces, the Provincial Head quarters have a guest house and would be a good place to start if you are visiting Ambae.

There are several dormitory/backpacker type guest houses near the nagol site on South Pentecost. The room rates range from VT1500 (A$17) to VT3500 (A$38) per night and usually include all meals. Maewo attracts yachties because of its beautiful calm bays and pristine waters. There are beach bungalows on South Maewo, near the Maewo yacht club and a guest house where river treks and cultural tours can be arranged. North Maewo, near the airport and banking facilities is Lini Guest house which also organises cultural tours and bush/river treks.

Nagol Bungalows has four bungalows built by the black sand beach about 5 minutes walk south of Salap village. The bungalow is also a pleasant spot to relax for a couple of days whilst gearing up for the land dive. The main attractions in the area are the Nagol (land-diving), from April to early June each year, and traditional villages. Nagol Bungalows offers several tours include land-diving, Ratap kastom village, bush walking, caves and a kastom Eel Stone. Each bungalow has room for a double bed and two or three singles. There's also an old guesthouse with three double rooms and three single rooms. Mosquito nets are provided. Nagol Bungalows has one shared toilet and shower. Bath towel and toilet paper are supplied.

Walap Beach Bungalows is close to Wali village on south Pentecost. Walap looks like a nice place, between the beach and a river -a more convenient site for overnight visitors traveling to watch the Nagol ceremony.

Lua ete Salgolo is a friendly guesthouse at Kaiwo village, north Maewo. It's the first accommodation you find when coming from the Naone airstrip. Kaiwo village is within walking distance of the waterfall and cascades on the plateau above Naone (half-day excursion). Lua ete Salgolo Guesthouse has one bedroom and a kitchen/sitting room. The bedroom has one single bed and one bunk bed. The windows have screens and mosquito coils are available. Bath towels and toilet paper are provided. Simple aelan style meals are available at Lua ete Salgolo including lap-lap and water taro. Breakfasts are commonly tea and crackers. The guesthouse kitchen has a gas cook top and a good collection of pots, pans, dishes and utensils.

The guesthouse is an annex to the community hall. It has four bedrooms. Three have bunk beds (two singles) and one has both a double bed and a single bed. Bring your own mosquito net. Only the kitchen has solar lighting, bring a torch light. The guesthouse has a modern toilet and shower. However, the water supply is unreliable. Bring your own toilet paper, bath towel and soap. The kitchen has a gas cook top and a useful collection of pots, pans, plates, cups and utensils. There are a couple of well stocked stores in Betarara where you can buy food. The village of Betarara is conveniently located in central Maewo. From here you can continue along the west coast truck road or walk the Naviso loop —Betarara has a National Bank of Vanuatu agent and a Vanuatu Post agent.

Duviara has one guesthouse with three rooms and one garden bungalow with a double bed. There's plenty of space and groups as large as eight people have been accommodated before. The bungalows have no electricity —candles and kerosene lamps are used for lighting. Bring your own bath towel, soap and toilet paper. Meals at Duviara Guesthouse may include local taro, lap-lap taro, kumala, tin meat, chicken, freshwater prawns, aelan kabis and salad. Breakfasts are tea or instant coffee with bread, gato or pancakes. Tours can be arranged subject to demand. The property is near the Duviara Conservation Area and at the start of the northern route to the crater lakes. Duviara is an excellent base for hiking and bird watching.

Asanvari Yacht Club is a beach front property frequently visited by yachties. Asanvari Yacht Club has two large bungalows and a dining hall. The bungalows have concrete floors, bamboo walls and Natangura thatch rooves. The aluminium frame sliding glass windows are a novelty. Mosquito nets are provided. The yacht club has one shared modern toilet and one shower. Bath towels and toilet paper are provided. The food at Asanvari includes rice and vegetables and/or chicken. Asanvari's waterfall is a good place to swim and the reefs in the bay are good for snorkelling and diving. Climbing the hills above Asanvari, you will be rewarded by fine views to Pentecost, Ambrym, Paama, Malekula and Malo. Another walk into the bush takes you to some wet caves with bats.
